Heavy Events Entry Form
Please complete the following information.
Before you hit the "Submit" button be sure you have read and understood the Release conditions given below.
Submission of an entry constitutes agreement with these conditions.
*Event descriptions and rules are given in detail on the Heavy Events page of the Japan Scottish Highland Games website.
*Kilt Rental: The Heavy Events Committee has kilts for rent. All competitors must be kilted.
Admission to the Games: 1,000 yen.
I have a number of tickets and can mail them to you before the day of the Games. You can pay the Games back on the day of the event.
Heavy Events Fee: 1,000 yen.
Payable on the day of the Games at the Heavy Events table.
Release:
Please enter me in the Heavy Events. In consideration of my acceptance of this entry form, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims that I may have to damages against The Japan Scottish Highland Games Committee, its agents, representatives, officers, and employees, for any and all injuries which I may suffer during the Japan Scottish Highland Games. I also certify that I am over the age of 18.
Note to Athletes
The purpose of the Games is to showcase the best in Scottish culture to Japan and the international community here in Japan. The purpose of the Heavy Events is to generate interest in traditional Scottish athletics.
Experience in throwing is not necessary and instruction will be provided for first time throwers. If a sufficient number of athletes show interest there will be a novice class event commencing at 9:45am. Otherwise, there will be a short clinic on Heavy Events throwing conducted by Scott Sim of the Scottish Games Association, after which we will start the events. Please be registered and in your kilt by 10:30am.
- A maximum of 12 competitors will be permitted on the field for the main Heavy Events. Participants are selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
- All fees are payable on the day of the event prior to the start of the competition.
- The Heavy Events table will be near the announcer's booth on the far side of the track. Look for the people in the dark blue T-shirts.
- Prizes are awarded to the top 6 athletes in the Heavy Events.
- There is a special prize for the best caber throw: the James L. Johnston/Midland Life Prize.
- All Heavy Events competitors will receive a Games T-shirt and sticker.
- We follow the Scottish Games Association rules.
- Drinking of alcohol by competitors before or during the competition is prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.
- Athletes must compete in all events to receive a prize.
- Soft drinks will be provided for athletes.
- Lunch is not provided, but there are food stalls at the games, which you are free to patronize. Be advised that we usually move from one event to the next with no breaks. If you have a friend who can bring you a meal please use him/her.
